  • The minimum height required for male candidates is 165 cm, and for female candidates, it is 155 cm.
  • The minimum chest requirement for male candidates is 77 cm (unexpanded) and 82 cm (expanded).
  • The weight of the candidate should be proportionate to their height and age.

The visual standards for the candidates should be as follows:

  • Distant Vision: 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other eye without correction (both eyes).
  • Near Vision: Snellen near vision chart (with or without glasses) with a minimum distance of 25 cms.
  • Candidates should not have any hearing disability.
  • Candidates should not have any tattoos on their body, except for religious or tribal tattoos.

It is important to note that the physical standards mentioned above are only the minimum requirements. Candidates who exceed these standards will have an advantage over others during the selection process.

PST Test Procedures

The CISF Head Constable Ministerial Physical Standard Test consists of the following procedures:

  • Race: Candidates have to run a race of 1.6 km (1 mile) within 6 minutes and 30 seconds (for male candidates) and 8 minutes (for female candidates).
  • Long Jump: Candidates have to clear a long jump of 11 feet (for male candidates) and 9 feet (for female candidates).
  • High Jump: Candidates have to clear a high jump of 3.5 feet (for male candidates) and 3 feet (for female candidates).
  • Shot Put: Candidates have to throw a 16-pound shot put to a minimum distance of 14.8 feet (for male candidates) and 10 feet (for female candidates).

Candidates who qualify in the Physical Standard Test will be eligible for the next stage of the selection process, which is the Written Test.
