The Most Beautiful Places in Egypt

-

The country of Egypt is one of the oldest nations on earth, and its rich history is reflected in its many monuments, including the Pyramids of Giza and Abu Simbel temples. This beautiful nation links northeast Africa with the Middle East and its fertile Nile River Valley sits along the river’s edge. You’ll find Egypt’s monuments dotted throughout the country, with the Great Sphinx and other iconic structures found in Giza and Luxor. In Traveling&Tourism you will find the list of most beautiful cities in Egypt.

Cairo

Cairo is one of the most important tourist destinations in Egypt. This sprawling city is located on the Nile River. It is home to historical sites that date back to prehistoric times.

The Egyptian Museum, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest collection of ancient Pharaonic artifacts in the world. The museum is located in downtown Cairo. There are over 100,000 artifacts to see. They include gilded artifacts from King Tutankhamun.

Cairo is also home to a number of medieval mosques and monuments. These attractions are located in the Islamic Cairo district. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Egypt.

One of the oldest streets in Cairo is Al-Muizz, which is filled with bazaars, markets and mosques. This area is also considered to be a major center of Islamic architectural treasures.

Pyramids of Giza

The Pyramids of Giza are among the most famous monuments in the world. These ancient ruins stand on the banks of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. They have stood for more than four thousand years and still attract millions of visitors each year.

When deciding on a tour to the pyramids, make sure to choose a guide that can provide a history lesson. You can also opt for an air-conditioned vehicle to avoid the heat of the desert.

In addition to the pyramids, you can also visit the Grand Egyptian Museum. This museum is slated to be the largest museum in the world dedicated to one civilization.

As you walk through the museum, you will see exhibits that show how Egypt’s ancient people lived and worked. Aside from the museum, you can also visit a tomb that was once home to a Pharaoh.

Red Sea

One of the most beautiful Egypt tourism places is the Red Sea. The sea is home to thousands of exotic fish and hundreds of different corals. This place is also known for its beautiful reefs, which provide great snorkeling opportunities.

Some of the best resorts in Egypt are located along the long Red Sea coastline. The region’s beaches are usually quiet but are teeming with aquatic life.

Aside from its stunning beaches, the Red Sea is home to some of the world’s best diving sites. Hundreds of divers visit these sites each year for amazing underwater adventures. Among the most popular dive destinations are Elphinstone and Rocky Island.

For non-divers, the Red Sea is an ideal destination for fun in the sun. There are many water activities available, including fishing, windsurfing, sailing, diving and snorkeling. In addition, visitors can explore the desert landscape.

Abu Simbel temples

The Abu Simbel temples are one of the most stunning archaeological sites in the world. This impressive collection of temples was built by ancient Egyptians between 1264 BC and 1244 BC. Today, these temples stand as a living proof of ancient Egyptian glory.

The temples were built to honor and protect the legacy of King Ramses II. He is considered a god of creation. As such, they were also constructed to impress Egypt’s southern neighbors.

The original temple was a large rock structure carved into the side of a mountain. During the 18th century, the temple was discovered by an Egyptian Nubian boy named Abu Simbel.

The site was a sanctuary for the goddess Hathor, and later became sacred to Ramesses. When Ramesses was in his 24th year, he came to the site with his wife. Eventually, the temples were covered with sand.

Sphynx alley

Sphinx alley is a two-mile long avenue located in Upper Egypt. It links Luxor and Karnak temples. There are more than one thousand statues lining the alley.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the most recognizable ancient Egyptian relics. This statue is carved from a single piece of limestone. One of its most prominent features is its missing nose.

Ancient Egyptians believed that the Sphinx served as a divine defender. They also believed that the Sphinx was a representation of the Pharaoh reborn as the sun god.

However, the Sphinx has been in decline for many years. The face has been worn off and the Sphinx emblem has been broken off of the headdress. Moreover, the Sphinx has suffered damage from pollution and wind. In order to preserve the Sphinx, restoration efforts are currently underway.
