Can KIRAÇ was born in 1927 as one of the two sons of Ali Numan Kıraç, an agronomist on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s gazi farm. Can KIRAÇ, who was born in Etimesgut district of Ankara province, has a brother. His name is Inan KIRAÇ. After Can Ata KIRAÇ graduated from Galatasaray High School, he joined Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture and turned to agriculture, which was his father’s profession. After his university education, he started working as an apprentice next to Bernar Nahum, who is a manager at the Automotive Branch of Koç Ticaret Company in Ankara. Can KIRAÇ’s Family Life
Inan KIRAÇ, the brother of Can KIRAÇ, became the General Manager of Otoyol A.Ş. in 1966. In the following years, he worked as a senior manager in the automobile companies of Koç Holding. Galatasaray education Foundation was founded in 1981 by Inan KIRAÇ and he was among the founders of the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation. Dec. Inan KIRAÇ married Suna Kıraç, the daughter of his boss Vehbi Koç, in 1969 and they have a daughter named Ipek Kıraç. In the fifteenth year of their marriage, they adopted Ipek Kıraç in 1985 when he was just four months old. Inan Kıraç, one of the five partners of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group, withdrew from the project in 2021 due to health problems. Like his brother Cana KIRAÇ, he has served the Koç community for a long time. In addition to his managerial and other duties at Cana KIRAÇ Koç Holding, he served as a member of the Administrative Committee of Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV) between Dec. 1987-1993. During the foundation of today’s Koç University, he also served as a member of the University Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees established by the Vehbi Koç Foundation. at the end of 1991, businessman Can KIRAÇ voluntarily retired from Koç Group, ending his 41-year professional life.
Can KIRAÇ’s Books
in 1995, my boss Vehbi Koç wrote his book with my memories. Can KIRAÇ, who wrote the books titled Memories Events and Collaged Stones in 2004, was elected as an honorary member by the Turkish Journalists Association in 2006. The books titled Can Ata KIRAÇ Antique Man and Can Kıraç Glove-Free Man, which tell about Can KIRAÇ, written by Mehmet Gündem, were published in 2017. He lost his wife Inci Atav Kıraç in 2019 due to Alzheimer’s disease. Can KIRAÇ, the eldest son of Ali Numan KIRAÇ and Semiha KIRAÇ, his father of Caucasian origin, who was born in Bursa, continues his retirement life.
