Working On My Image and Appearance

-

My Wallet-Thief Wake-Up Call

The other day, I realized that I needed to improve my appearance. I tried to return someone’s fallen wallet, and they thought I was a thief! In retrospect, it wasn’t a surprise. I was wearing an old, stained shirt and ripped jeans, and my hair was a mess. It definitely wasn’t a good look!

After that incident, I decided to take more pride in my appearance and try to improve the way I look. Here are a few things I’ve been working on!

Face and Hair Are Extremely Important

When I looked in the mirror, the first thing I noticed was how worn my face looked. I noticed a bunch of new gray hairs and wrinkles. Although I still felt young and healthy, I saw some undeniably serious signs of aging, which was upsetting. To make matters worse, my hair was disheveled, overly long and strewn in all directions. I could have easily passed as homeless!

After thinking of different ways to look better, I arrived at a conclusion: I needed professional intervention. So, I scheduled a consultation with a local plastic surgeon to see what a male facelift could do for me. The doctor mentioned that the procedure would rejuvenate my face for upward of 10 years. I’m so excited and can’t wait to look my best!

Right after my surgical consultation, I visited a nearby hair salon and asked the stylist to change my hair. She gave me a simple trim, keeping my hair longer on top and shaving the sides. I also decided to get a quick beard trim. It was all well worth it!

Styling Better with More Suits

Of course, it would be silly to ignore the fact that I’m getting older. After all, with age comes wisdom, not to mention refinement. What better way to express my growth than with a wardrobe full of beautifully tailored suits?

I’ve never been particularly interested in style. Usually, I wear jeans and t-shirts because they’re comfortable. However, I figured that, with so many other changes in my life, I should shift my attitude. So, I’ve taken a more active interest in my wardrobe, and have gravitated toward clothes that make me look polished. Thankfully, there are all sorts of men’s magazines out there that teach you how to look good. I went straight to GQ!

In the time I’ve spent reading about male fashion, I’ve learned so much about matching style to the weather and season. I’ve also been using splashes of bright color to make my outfits more visually appealing. Normally, I pick out dark colors, but I’ve started to sprinkle in blues, reds, greens, and even yellows. Who knows—maybe one day, I’ll start rocking pink!

Picking Up a Book Here and There

The smartest, wealthiest people in the world read more than the average person. Bill Gates is a prime example, reading close to 1 book a week! If I want to look anything like them, I might as well start picking up a book here and there.

I know it’s a great hobby, but reading has never been an interest of mine. It requires a lot of time and attention that I usually don’t have. That was what I thought, at least, until I started thinking about how much time I spend in front of the television every day. So, to improve my image, I decided to cut down on my television consumption. Instead of wasting the day with the news, I’ll start reading books instead.

I haven’t gotten to it yet, but I’m certain that reading will do wonders for my image and lifestyle. I can’t wait to try it out!
