Relax at Al Aqah beach
If you miss the beach and wish to have a relaxing day, then head over to Al Aqah. The beach is located around 45 kilometres north of Fujairah city and has a fantastic view of the Gulf of Oman.
Those who love water sports can try out activities like diving, paddle boarding and snorkeling at Al Aqah beach. Divers will get to explore the underwater marine life, including turtles, parrotfish and blacktip sharks.
Trek through the Hajar Mountains
Hatta is a scenic town located high in the Hajar Mountains and is home to the emerald Hatta Dam, Hatta Heritage Village and rugged trails that are popular among visitors. The Hajar Mountains boast a cool climate and a dense landscape perfect for camping and trekking. Bat, Al-Khutm and Al-Ayn’s Archaeological sites are also located among the mountains and are a great way to explore the history of the mountains.

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah is a majestic structure and resembles the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. The place of worship covers an area of 420,000 square feet and has 65 elegant domes and 6 minarets, varying from 260 feet to 330 feet. It is visible from all over the emirate and is also called the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Fujairah.
Take a dip in Madhab Hot Springs Park
The Madhab Spring Sulphuric Park in Fujairah is situated at the foothills of the Hajar Mountains and close to the Fujairah Heritage Village. The park is a popular tourist attraction in the emirate to spend the day, especially for children and families.
The Madhab Sulpheric Spring Park is also an excellent barbeque spot; however, you must note that it has a strict littering policy. Here you will find 3 separate swimming pools for men, women and children, with the source of water being a natural sulphuric spring located at the edge of the park.
Drive to Kalba
A 30 minutes drive to the east from Fujairah will take you to the breezy town of Kalba, located along the coast in the emirate of Sharjah. Kalba is known for its ecotourism and exciting outdoor activities like kayaking, trekking and scuba diving.
You will also get a chance to spot some wildlife, such as the Arabian oryx, which is the national animal of the UAE. Kalba also has a few interesting places that boast its heritage, like the Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi museum, Al Ghayl Fort and the Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre. You can also visit the corniche area and the Kalba Beach (situated off the Khor Kalba Conservation Reserve), which stretches over 7 kilometres.
