Which team will win the 22/23 Premier League title?

-

The new Premier League season is just under a month away, and the question on everyone’s minds is who will take home the title this year. After a close run season, Manchester City finished ahead of Liverpool to claim the title last year. The final game decider is why football is the best game in the world, but can Man City do it again this year? Man City and Liverpool have strengthened considerably during the transfer window, so it will be interesting to see how the two teams do. Other teams in and around the top 4, such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Spurs, have strengthened their squads ahead of this new season and will be hoping that the top two teams slip up so they can be there to mop up the pieces. Let’s take a closer look at the teams most likely to win the 22/23 Premier League season.

Table of Contents

Man City

Arguably the favourites to defend their title, Manchester City has a solid lineup and a track record of winning league titles. They say that the true test of the strength of a team is in their league performance. Anyone can put together a lucky cup run, but to perform game after game, week after week, shows a powerful team — and that’s what Manchester City have been doing for the past few years. While it went down to the wire last year, they were in control of the league for almost its entirety. The team is backed by supporters all over the world, with their fanbase stretching from America to as far East as Thailand! There have been two main incomings this year with the arrival of Erling Haaland from Dortmund and Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United. The one criticism that was levelled at last year’s Man City team was the lack of a recognised striker, and boy, do they have a striker now! Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world right now and will bang in plenty of goals for the side. Kalvin Phillip’s arrival to replace the outgoing Fernandinho is a tricky business too. With the squad depth and team mentality, City looks like the odds-on favourites for the league this year.

Liverpool

The team most likely to take the title off of City this year is Liverpool. Runners-up in the 21/22 season by just one point, they were very close to securing back-to-back league titles after not having won one for 30 years. A lot of people have said about this Liverpool team that it needs to start winning more league titles soon as many of their key players are moving past their prime. The majority of their starting 11 is over 28 years old, and the only player brought in so far that looks like he’ll make the starting line-up is Darwin Nunez from Benfica. He’s been brought in to replace the outgoing Sadio Mane, who is joining Bayern Munich for £28.8 million. He’ll be a significant loss to the team, but they’ll hope that Nunez can slot right in at the start of the year. That said, Liverpool still has one of the two best squads in the league and will be expected to challenge heavily for the title. Whether they can go one step further than last year and win the whole thing is yet to be seen.

Chelsea

The only team that could conceivably break the duopoly at the top of the Premier League is Chelsea. They arguably have the third-best squad in the league, a manager with a clear playing style that the players have brought into, and a new owner looking to make an impression on the league. Todd Boehly bought Chelsea at the end of May after Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club due to sanctions placed on Russia following their invasion of Ukraine. The first significant change that Boehly has done as the owner is to bring in Raheem Sterling from Man City for £50 million. Buying a key player from a title rival shows a signal of intent and dramatically increases the quality of Chelsea’s starting line-up. They’re currently 18-1 to win the league, which could be an attractive price for some punters. No matter where you are in the world, if you want to bet on Premier League football, plenty of online bookmakers can give you the best odds on the games. The best bookmakers will offer generous welcome bonuses to give you even more chances to win. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to pick, but whether you’re in the UK, Australia, or Thailand, you can find the best football betting websites that are dedicated to your area and available in your local language, such as in Thai (เว็บพนันบอลที่ดีที่สุด). Whatever team you think will win the league this season, you’d be sure to find a site to bet on it.
